Aircom Announces the General Availability of Mentor v2024.2 Leveraging Automation for Network Rollouts and Optimization

Network Connection

New Release Enables Faster Optimization of Mobile Networks

FAIRFAX, VA , USA – January 8th, 2025 – Aircom, a leading provider of advanced analytics and optimization solutions for communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide, is pleased to announce the general availability of Mentor v2024.2. Along with substantial system updates, this latest release focuses on automating how cellular networks are optimized with the introduction of two new Cognisense tools: Fast Track Site Validation & Optimization Expert. Both apps are designed to improve network performance through automation.

“Cellular networks often contain thousands of cell sites – and each one requires regular monitoring and updating to protect and optimize network performance.  Automating this process is the only way operators can continue to grow and deliver a quality experience for their customers,” said Khurram Chaudhry, Vice President of Product Management & Engineering at Aircom. “The introduction of the CogniSense Fast Track Site Validation and Optimization Expert apps allow mobile operators to reduce the cost of maintaining cellular networks without sacrificing quality.”

Highlights from Aircom’s Mentor Release 2024.2:

•          CogniSense Fast Track Site Validation: Automatically verifies if new cells and sites are functional and then monitors their performance. Based on assigned KPIs, this app grades each cell as ‘Pass’ ‘Fail’ or ‘Inactive’ in near real time, presented through a user-friendly dashboard. This enables engineers to de-activate failed sites and cells quickly, before they significantly impact customer traffic.

CogniSense Optimization Expert: Automatically detects when cells over/undershoot their coverage and calculates tilt change recommendations by cluster. It also identifies and analyzes swapped sectors. Calculation results are presented through maps, time trend charts and tables. This robust data also allows engineers to spot and analyze network trends.

Network Load Management: Streamlines hardware requirements and optimizes resource utilization by distributing heavy workloads across multiple agents. A new Network Data Processing API has also been introduced, enabling precise control over the collection, processing, and storage of data from specific network elements.

Yony Dvory, Director of Product Management, added, “As cellular networks expand in size and complexity, Mentor 2024.2 serves as a vital force multiplier for efficiently monitoring and optimizing modern networks. With its advanced automation and API capabilities, Mentor enhances engineering productivity, positioning Aircom at the forefront of innovation—a commitment we will continue to prioritize in 2025.”
