Spectrum Refarming and Optimization

The Problem

• Refarming of 63% spectrum country-wide GSM 1800 network
• Traffic analysis to be done to calculate the TRX cut proposal
• Frequency plan Implementation of GSM 1800
• Best efforts of KPI optimization

The Solution

• Ultima Forte tool was used to refarm 63% of GSM 1800 network
• BCCH, BCCH-BSIC, and Neighbor cleanup followed by data collection (PM, CM and MRs) using a fully automated collection platform for multiple OEM’s
• Processing collected data to generate the Interference matrix
• Traffic analysis and TRX upgrade/downgrade recommendations
• Built the various AFP strategies and finalized the best suited AFP in collaboration with concerned stakeholders

The Benefits

• KPIs were maintained and improved
• Spectrum is freed to use for other technologies
