The latest release expands template intelligence, YANG-based interoperability, and automation governance to simplify RAN operations at scale

FAIRFAX, VA, USA – 4th December 2025: Aircom, a leading provider of advanced analytics and optimization solutions for communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide, today announced the release of the latest version of SmartCM Orchestrator, a strengthened data governance and automation framework designed to support the increasing demands of modern RAN infrastructure. The new release deepens policy-driven orchestration across planning, optimization, activation, and assurance workflows—enabling operators to automate configuration management with greater accuracy, reliability, and multi-vendor flexibility. With this upgrade, SmartCM Orchestrator firmly establishes itself as a scalable solution for RAN automation.

Built specifically for the complexity of multi-technology and multi-vendor environments, the new SmartCM Orchestrator version introduces expanded template and rule governance, enhanced workflow intelligence, and improved operational visibility. The addition of out-of-the-box YANG template support significantly broadens its orchestration capabilities, allowing operators to govern diverse RAN footprints more seamlessly.

“Operators around the world are looking for automation frameworks that are not only powerful, but governed, scalable, and ready for real-world complexity,” said Khurram Chaudhury, VP – Product Management and Engineering, Aircom. “This new version of SmartCM Orchestrator delivers exactly that—a policy-driven automation engine that strengthens operational governance, accelerates decision-making, and lays the groundwork for next-generation RAN automation.”

Enhanced Template & Rule Management Framework

The new version expands Aircom’s template-driven automation capabilities with an open API framework that supports complete create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) operations for transcript and rule templates. Operators can now import custom rules directly through a flexible, prompt-based workflow, simplifying on-boarding and reducing operational overhead. Additionally, user-defined filters can be applied to SmartCM database inputs, enabling highly targeted transcript generation and more precise configuration changes.

Workflow Reliability & Automation Enhancements

To strengthen automation resilience, SmartCM Orchestrator establishes a user-driven automatic retry policy for failed Network Write transcripts. These retries are executed directly by the Orchestrator, ensuring smoother automation cycles and reducing dependency on manual intervention. Workflow robustness has been further improved through stronger transcript-level validations and more detailed OSS job status handling—essential for large-scale, high-volume CM environments.

Vendor & Technology Extensibility

With the introduction of out-of-the-box YANG template support, the platform now offers broader multi-vendor orchestration, ensuring that operators can scale automation across increasingly heterogeneous RAN infrastructures. Enhancements to the template framework provide support for extended data models, dynamic filters, and complex orchestration sequences, giving operators greater control and flexibility as their networks evolve.

New Operational Tools & Observability

To support end-to-end accountability and faster troubleshooting, the new SmartCM Orchestrator release includes integrated Audit Trail Dashboards, offering comprehensive traceability across all orchestrated workflows. Session-based job log separation improves issue isolation and debugging efficiency, while newly introduced smart filters and operator-level controls enhance usability and precision—ensuring teams can navigate automation processes with confidence.

“This release represents a major evolution in how operators can govern and scale RAN automation,” said Dimitris Dernikas, VP of Technology and Configuration Management, Aircom. “By combining YANG-based multi-vendor policy rules with stronger workflow intelligence, improved validations, and enhanced observability, SmartCM Orchestrator is further enhancing the ability of engineers to manage the full complexity of modern RAN environments—safely, reliably, and at scale.”

The new SmartCM Orchestrator is now available for operators and integrators seeking a scalable, policy-driven automation foundation for current and next-generation RAN infrastructure.
