New Release Furthers Progress in Automating Mobile Network Design

FAIRFAX, VA, USA – January 18, 2025 – Aircom, a leading provider of advanced analytics and optimization solutions for communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide, is pleased to announce the general availability of Asset v2024.4.

Asset is a suite of solutions for improving the efficiency and accuracy of mobile network design. This latest release focuses on automation and usability improvements that allow operators to design cost-effective, high performing radio and mobile backhaul networks with ease.

“Key to the success of the ASSET suite of products is its ability to seamlessly integrate into an operator’s wider OSS ecosystem, improving overall planning efficiency and accuracy,” stated Khurram Chaudhry, VP Product Management & Engineering. “Another focus has been our drive towards automation. This latest release includes an update to our ArrayWizard tool that allows users to automatically generate compound arrays by gathering input from multiple coverage arrays. We have integrated 3D ray tracing propagation modeling within ASSET. Moreover, we now support additional technologies in our flagship product ASSET Evo”

Other Highlights from Aircom’s Asset Release 2024.4:

  • ASSET Evo now supports GSM, UMTS, and NB IoT technologies, as well as the use of repeaters for greater signal amplification. In addition, users can now generate coverage maps for multiple heights on the mobile terminal, regardless of the cellular technology. And with Evo’s newly enhanced filtering, array management, and data import capabilities, engineers can perform their daily tasks much more quickly and efficiently.
  • ASSET Radio nowoffers enhanced support for LTE physical cell identity (PCI) planning, LTE power boosting, and 5G new radio (NR) predictions for better radius calculations. Additional GIS export options are also now available, along with the capacity to handle multiple GIS maps.
  • ASSET Design allows users to automatically optimize antenna height, which reduces network interference and increases the capacity for mobile operators to handle the growing demand for data traffic.
  • Asset Propagation Model now has 3-D ray tracing for modeling the propagation of radio waves, allowing users to better predict transmission signal strength on the ground. Version 2024.4 also speeds up calculation times and offers significant accuracy and usability improvements.
